Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg
Matthias Wieckmann is Senior Advisor and Spokesman for Urban Data in Hamburg’s Digital City Co-ordination Office. In 2015 he and his team established the Co-ordination Office within Hamburg’s Senate Chancellery. The office is in charge of strategic planning, co-ordination, monitoring and external presentation of Hamburg’s Smart City initiatives.
From 2011 to 2015 Mr. Wieckmann was Consultant for Economic Affairs in Hamburg’s Representative Office to the Federal Government in Berlin (Landesvertretung), e.g. representing the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in the corresponding committees of the Federal Council of Germany (Bundesrat).
In previous years he worked for the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Hamburg and held responsible positions for the National Accounts Statistic of the Federal States in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Mr. Wieckmann graduated in 2002 from the University of Hamburg with a degree in sociology, business administration and commercial law.
